TUESDAY

Boys Basketball — at Bemidji (6-6), 6 p.m. The Hawks (9-1) look to extend their winning streak to three straight, following impressive home victories over Cloquet 85-59 on Thursday and Grand Rapids 76-63 Saturday. Hermantown will return home to face Hibbing (0-8) on Friday and Denfeld (7-7) on Tuesday, Jan. 24. The Hawks are led by senior guard

Girls Hockey — Gentry Academy, 7 p.m. Hermantown Arena. The Mirage (12-4-2) defeated Breck 4-0 on Saturday at St. Luke’s Sports & Events Center, as junior forward Izy Fairchild scored two goals and added an assist and sophomore goaltender Neelah McLeod stopped 19 shots to record her first shutout of the season. Proctor-Hermantown has seven regular season games remaining, including home games against Gentry Academy, Duluth Marshall (Jan. 24, Hermantown), Eden Prairie (Jan. 26, Hermantown) and Superior (Jan. 30, St. Luke’s Sports & Events Center).

Boys Hockey — at Hibbing-Chisholm, 7 p.m. The Class 1A/No. 2-ranked Hawks suffered their first loss of the season Saturday afternoon at 1A/No. 1 Warroad, 3-1, the Hawks first loss to a 1A opponent in the regular season in 10 years and 103 games and following a four and one-half hour bus ride. Hermantown (10-1-1) will also face nonconference Moorhead (7-7) on Friday at 7 p.m. at historic Hermantown Arena before visiting St. Thomas Academy (10-5) at 2 p.m. Saturday. The Hawks feature a bevy of elite talent, including junior forward Dallas Vieau (a Penn State recruit), senior forward Wyatt Carlson, senior defenseman George Peterson and junior defenseman Drew Nelson.

Girls Basketball — Cambridge-Isanti, 7:15 p.m. The Hawks (2-12) begin a three-game homestand, with all games scheduled for this week. Hermantown will also play host to nonconference opponents Pine City (6-4) on Thursday and Princeton (4-8) Saturday. The Hawks are led by seniors Liv Birkeland and Lauryn Biondi and junior Emma Herstad.
